Despite being raised in a Muslim household, I remember feeling suffocated, feeling guilt and having doubts. And not because of Islam, but because of Muslims who chose to tell you that you aren’t practising the deen correctly - whatever that means. It took me a long time to fall in love with Islam again and I have. This time, however, I chose to seek knowledge and guidance and avoid dogma.
